Fire Babas are enemies in Spirit Tracks.[1]

Characteristics

Fire Babas look like simple bulbs, but when approached, they sprout out of their bulbs. Fire Babas, when in flower form, can spit a fire ball that does a quarter of a Heart damage. However, they will try to eat Link if he gets too close. If they swallow the young hero and if the stylus is not rubbed back and forth, they will cause about one and three quarters Hearts of damage. When Fire Babas are sliced once, their bulb parts will fly off and they will lose their ability to spew fire. In this state, they inflict greater damage when they eat Link.

Using the Whip on a Fire Baba will risk pulling the bulb toward Link, potentially causing Link get swallowed in the process. Without their stems, Fire Babas are more versatile, and cannot be stunned by the Boomerang. The Boomerang is only effective when the Fire Babas still have stems. Bombs and Arrows are very effective.
