Private Oasis
Private Oasis,[1] also known as Link's Oasis,[2] is one of the islands of the Great Sea in The Wind Waker.
Features and Overview
The Private Oasis is a luxury getaway island located near the center of the Great Sea, one square south from the Tower of the Gods. The island features floral arrangements, a waterfall that flows into a large wading pool with a gazebo and several Rupees and Hearts hidden in the water, and an indoor Cabana. The Private Oasis is originally owned by Mrs. Marie; despite its name, Link is free to explore the island, but attempting to enter Mrs. Marie's Cabana will get him scolded by the Butler.[3]
Once Link shows Cabana Deed to the Butler, he recognizes the young hero as the property's new master,[4] and the island's name becomes "Link's Oasis".[2] Inside the Cabana, Link can find the Sliding Picture Puzzle Minigame and a Secret Cave that leads to Triforce Chart #2. Outside, he can reach the top of the waterfall by using the Hookshot on a Palm Tree, or by gliding with the Deku Leaf from the Cabana's porch. Here, he'll find a Treasure Chest containing Treasure Chart #27.
Old Man Ho Ho also spends time on this island, staring through his Telescope at a flock of Seagulls until such time that Link defeats the Big Octo they are hovering around, at which point he vanishes.[5] This island is also the location where the Korok Drona chose to plant one of the Great Deku Tree's seeds.
